Traditionally, the preparation of food and the collection of
firewood is the responsibility of the women. When the camps
were first established, the women were able to collect wood
in the vicinity. However, as the conflict continued and the
camps grew, the availability of wood in the area has
decreased to the point of non-existence.
At times, the women must
venture over 10 km away from
the camp to find sufficient wood
for her family's needs.
These trips often must be preformed more than once a week.
