Internationalexperience
Get a worldwide network of connections by taking advantage of SPEA's
numerous opportunities to study abroad. Some of these include:
The Scholars in Global Citizenship Program (SGCP), offers outstanding
undergraduates the chance to discover and learn from countries in the midst
of major economic and political changes. Students take an eight-week course
and travel to a "case study" country for ten days to learn about governance and
globalization. For example, in the spring of 2008, 20 students traveled to South
Korea to study how that government manages the opportunities and challenges
created by globalization.
The IU at Oxford Program is a four-week summer study
abroad experience at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
Students attend classes at Said Business
School, learn about governance and decision-
making from IU faculty and visiting Oxford
guest lecturers, and enjoy field trips in the
surrounding area of England.
IU's Office of Overseas Study offers more
than 90 international programs in 39 countries
and 17 languages (including English). SPEA
curricula have a built-in flexibility to encourage
study abroad. We think it's invaluable to broaden your horizons,
help you prepare for a world that is becoming increasingly
international, and allow you to challenge yourself by facing
something new. For more information, visit the Overseas Study
