If you have a talent for resolving conflicts and differences between people, you
may be an excellent candidate for this program. Our legal studies major focuses
on the legal underpinnings of policy, and trains students to be experts on the
legal and institutional dimensions of public policy. Students study the role of
the courts in public affairs and the impact of major legal precedents in public
policy-making. (This is not a pre-law curriculum or paralegal training.)

Maybe you'd like to create a plan to resolve metropolitan gridlock or reduce
carbon emissions. Or perhaps you see yourself leading an organization or
business that helps address a persistent societal problem. Take charge with a
SPEA management major, and gain skills in strategic planning, financial and
human resource management, organizational behavior, and the development
and implementation of policies.
